VIDEO: Rep. Reick Urges Lawmakers to Reform State Taxing System Prior to Voting Against Hike Vote

After more than two years without a budget, on Sunday lawmakers narrowly approved a permanent large increase in the individual and corporate income tax rates in Illinois. Shortly after that vote, a spending plan for Fiscal Year 2018 was also approved.

During the debate on SB 09, State Representative Steve Reick (R-Woodstock) spoke about the need for lawmakers to reform the State’s tax system. Click here to watch Rep. Reick’s full floor comments on SB 09.
